My name is Jeremy Mays. I am originally from Michigan where I grew up for 19 years. Michigan was a really nice place to grow up but I wanted more. I wanted to see the world. So at the age if 19 I joined the U.S. Air Force. For 18 years I was a Vehicle Mechanic and the last 2 years 9 months I was a Nuclear Missile Alert Facility Manager at Great Falls, MT. In 2014 I was forced to retire from the Air Force after 20 years and 9 months. I Loved serving. I have lived is some Amazing places. Among them were Germany, Turkey, Korea, Virginia, Arkansas and Montana. I have also been deployed to some remote locations in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Peru, and Croatia. I have seen things I wish I could be unseen but they have taught me many things that I’m so glad I learned.
While we were stationed in Arkansas we bought a house. There was a space on a wall where we wanted to put an entertainment center. But we could not find one within our price range that would fit the wall. The cheapest we could find was $3000-$3500. So I told my wife I could build one. She asked me if I had ever built anything like that before and the answer was no. But I knew I could do it. So she drew a picture of what she wanted and I went to work. After some time I finally finished it and we Loved it. But that sparked an interest that I never knew I had. Since then I have learned so much and now have a passion for creating new and unique things.
After making the entertainment center I was asked by a fellow coworker if I could build a dresser for his son. He saw it in a store many years before but didn’t buy it. When he went back to buy it they no longer made it. So I took on the challenge. It took me 2 months to build because I tend to over engineer the things I build. I over engineer everything because I want them to last the test of time. I built it as if I was building it for myself. And I can be my own worst critic. It turned out Beautiful and both my coworker and his son were really grateful I could build it for them. I have since turned into a perfectionist with my woodworking. I can make many things with just a picture and dimensions. So if there is something you would like but cannot find it, Contact me to see if there is anything I can do for you. I started making Handmade Cedar Ornaments. I do not use a finish but sand them down tok 1000 grit sand paper so the smell of cedar is not effected. I make other wood ornaments just contact me with an idea. I also do wholesale wood ornaments and Christmas wood ornaments.
